Some questions if the current majlis can continue with the mandate. Supreme court of the Maldives will uphold the constitution, If questions arise on legitimacy of Majlis due to a violation of constitution, the supreme court will alert the institutions and will deliver its ruling.
Presidents' speech is very touching and encouraging. He seems very determined, courageous and energetic. He posses attribute like determination, courage, leadership, vision and self-trust. He had been in jail for a long time; he had faced lot of obstacles and difficulties. He tolerated insults thrown at him from many people. Many convinced him to give up what he stood for .He had succeeded and accomplished many things that some believe impossible and ridiculous. He had not given up his goal and his mission to bring the democracy and reform to Maldives even when everybody left him alone. He had crossed every obstruction in his way towards achieving what he is today.
Therefore I have no doubt he will deliver his promises and allow democracy to flourish in this small nation. He would not be a burden for independent institutions and the media to play its role. Its obvious political opponents and opposition parties will criticize any government till they come to the power.

Four years before we all united to bring down the 30 years old autocratic corrupt regime. We succeeded . Everybody should avoid making Maldives like a political volcano such as Pakistan in order to have a better life and healthy economy.
It was the worst presidential address I have ever heard in my entire life. It wasn't at all inspirational and motivational. If you carefully analyze the speech, you will realize how fake his speech was. It shows no clear direction and doesn't give any guidance. It doesn't highlight any strategies on tackling the current problems in our countries. All I saw was some empty promises. This is the time that he came with a realistic action plan but not with empty promises. He has done enough of making promises during the campaign time.
ReplyDeleteanonymous,
ReplyDeleteI suppose you are comparing the current president to the old one Gayoom. Gayoom gave many flowery speeches and in the end left the country bankrupt because he had to rest his arse on a golden toilet to shit. He left youth in ruins. He left the old people in ruins. He left the human rights record of the country in ruins and killed and tortured people in jails.
The current president is 100 times better than Gayoom, so ?
100% correct article.i supoort it
ReplyDeletewell i do not agree with u guys one bit. for me its like saying if there was once a bad guy, then there can never come a worst guy! do justice to ur souls guys. neither maumoon, nor anni has us in their top agendas. It all boil downs to power and money. i'll atleast put some faith in someone with an honest background and belief in god, but with whats happening and hearing (like the sula shirazs), i aint betting my money on anni.
ReplyDeletethe presidential address was not all that motivational i agree. I was a huge supporter of Anni before his swearing. still am, but, i wish he had better tell us the truth and not raise false hope in these difficult times.
ReplyDeleteAnd unlike above anon. i would have more faith in a godless person or godless country! When you bring god to picture everything goes wrong have you noticed! Alla willing Anni said many things will be achieved. What if Allah did not will, if it was not in His agenda this year. Are we going to blam Anni. We can't cox we accepted when he kept saying god willing. Had we opposed to his God willing promises than we might have a chance. but hey sorry fellas, somethings is not in HIS grace.
Looks like ur a real suck up to President Anni.
ReplyDeleteYour choice in life..cant blame u.
ur prolly an equal fool like him.
