There is high possibility that DRP and PA will get majority of the parliament if guys like ibra, Kutti Nasheed and Dr.Hassan campaign vigorously against MDP at this moment. People already feel it was a bad decision to throw Maumoon out, due to the pictures shown by opposition about the 05months old government. Current thinking among the public is that it would be much better if Maumoon was elected and he should be active in Maldives Politics. That could be achieved if DRP gets majority in the parliament. DRP is the main opposition party and PA candidates are influential candidates in their constituencies.
Thus to separate powers peoples will vote to DRP and PA. JP,Liberal party,IDP,DQP party has not endorsed candidates to all constituencies and are not active nor popular in the public as DRP. If DRP and PA got majority, I guarantee Auditor general Naeem, Civil Serviice commission Latheef , would be replaced. They will misuse the judiciary by electing a puppet chief justice and would not be able to investigate any fraud and corrupted cases (Air Maldives, Mifco,FPID.MNSL,MACL,STO.STELCO etc…) of Maumoon regime. Former foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid brother Mohamed shahid would be the Auditor General. It would be much better to get majority to MDP and other parties than DRP and PA.
In presidential system powers should be separated but in practically it’s not always separated. Civilized countries which have been practiced democracy for long time run the government smoothly with the help of parliament even if they did not have ruling party majority in the parliament. But our case is different, we are politically immature and hostility among political parties’ are at all time high .Our politicians are not matured and are self-interested and do not care about national interest except few guys like you. We can assure you, a parliament where opposition (DRP and PA) dominate would not facilitate things to MDP government to fulfill their promises. It would be a big disaster if DRP and PA dominated the parliament after their 30years of ruling.
If you advocate against MDP majority, please tell In you campaign forums it would be much worse if DRP get the majority. Please share your view with us.

Do we need to form a joint venture and lease airport for 50 years or more?
At Male International Airport , Maldives Airports Company(MACL), Island Aviation Services Ltd(iasl) and Maldives In flight Catering (MIC – 51% Maldives government ,49% SATS- SIN ) together provide ground handling services to the aircrafts. On an average, USD 1.2 million is received per month as ground handling revenue and the income distribute as per the agree ratio 56.4(MACL): 34.6 (IASL): 9(MIC)
Other than ground handling services, the above three company generate huge amount of revenue from Male International Airport.
MACL Maldives Airports Company
Sell jet fuel to airlines (highest income to MACL)
Lease space for office, duty free shops, restaurants etcLanding, Navigation and Parking ChargesAirport Tax (year 2008 passengers out 785,911. , received USD 11,002,754.00 as tax ).
IASL Island aviation service limited
Provide Cargo and Lounge services
Provide engineering services to certain airline
MIC Maldives In flight Catering
Provide catering services to airline.
Questions regarding joint venture based on long term lease and my opinion.
If we form a joint venture company with a foreign party, what would happen to IASL and MIC.?
MIC should have to go and government should provide subsidies to IASL for its domestic operation. IASL has been subsidizing its domestic operation loss from the ground handling and other income
Do we have to lease airport for 50 or more years to a foreign party and give them 49% of huge profit from to and abroad?(Male International Airport is a big asset)? No.
We don’t have to allow a foreign party take a huge amount of foreign currency from Maldives.
Do we really need such expansion for the time being?
Maldives is a tourist destination and tourists wants to go to the resorts as quickly as possible after long journey. They look for souvenirs from Airport or resort when they leave Maldives. Yet Tourist has not complained about the services and will not look to get luxury services they receive from Dubai and Singapore simply because Maldives is not a business hub or transit point for travelers.
Do we need any services improvement? can we manage the Airport by ourselves and if so what do we have to do?
Yes we need a service improvement at Male International Airport. We must overhaul the whole management of Maldives Airports Company and identify the corrupt elements and areas of mismanagement .After that we should appoint a new skilled trained management team with foreign experts to run the company. We can discuss with Airline Operators and revise the flight schedule(Currently most aircrafts land between 07 pm -02 pm). what we have to do to avoid congestion at peak time is by revisiting the procedure with the help of consultant and find easy and quick ways for passenger checking, immigration, custom clearance.
More than that we should have modern equipments which are necessary to improve and modernize services. .If we do not have funds I have no doubt there would be enough financial institutions to provide loan facilities since even private companies get million dollars loan from them.
Therefore to give 49 percent of our biggest asset (airport and its affiliate companies) for 50 or more years is not justified in the current scenario. It will decrease government revenue.
Please think about this and do everything to prevent foreign party taking over such a big asset in Maldives for a long period. This is an issue we should have to protest to make government understand.

Opening of Majlis and Presidents' Speach
Some questions if the current majlis can continue with the mandate. Supreme court of the Maldives will uphold the constitution, If questions arise on legitimacy of Majlis due to a violation of constitution, the supreme court will alert the institutions and will deliver its ruling.
Presidents' speech is very touching and encouraging. He seems very determined, courageous and energetic. He posses attribute like determination, courage, leadership, vision and self-trust. He had been in jail for a long time; he had faced lot of obstacles and difficulties. He tolerated insults thrown at him from many people. Many convinced him to give up what he stood for .He had succeeded and accomplished many things that some believe impossible and ridiculous. He had not given up his goal and his mission to bring the democracy and reform to Maldives even when everybody left him alone. He had crossed every obstruction in his way towards achieving what he is today.
Therefore I have no doubt he will deliver his promises and allow democracy to flourish in this small nation. He would not be a burden for independent institutions and the media to play its role. Its obvious political opponents and opposition parties will criticize any government till they come to the power.

Four years before we all united to bring down the 30 years old autocratic corrupt regime. We succeeded . Everybody should avoid making Maldives like a political volcano such as Pakistan in order to have a better life and healthy economy.

Strike, Strike strike for what!
You cant buy happiness with money! for what are you striking for
Its not good to announce sick leave. It’s not right to take advantage of such loopholes in the labor law and protest. specially workers who are working in the fields which are essential for the function of the society. Such protest shows we are not mature to practice democracy. Before start such protests you should cross certain stages and should arrange a protest when every possible action is exhausted. I think it’s not ethical to have such protest in order to raise pay since doctors are doing humanitarian work. Even not getting a penny, will get people and God love if assist with patients. I think a smart guy will not consider even such strike if we rethink about our economy and the world economic downfall. Wellknown companies in the world are suffering losses and countries are feeling the taste of credit crunch. Companies are begning to give redundancy notice to thousands of people, but they did not protest, they understand the situation, they love their country. Due to unbalanced huge budget of the last three years, Maldives economy has deteriorated a lot. Actually we have to cut down our payroll. Please guys make sense, think about the nation first. Seems everyone is greedy for power and money. Every one is trying hard to make their dreams true impatiently putting the country in the ashtray. No one can buy happiness for money and power.
“If we ponder deeply over the question,HOW WE GET HAPPINESS, we realise that happiness is not to be had from somewhere else, for the soul is itself made of this happiness, is nothing but happiness alone. That which is happiness incarnate has not to find happiness anywhere else. Happiness is not to be possessed; it is to be enjoyed, to be experienced. It is not necessary to torment ourselves for getting happiness. There is no trouble whatsoever in happiness; restlessness has no happiness. Restlessness is itself unhappiness and its absence is happiness. As such there should be no desire for happiness, for desires themselves make us unhappy. Absence of desires is real happiness.”

Ex minister waiting for a falme to run for presidency
Ex minister waiting for a falme to run for presidency.
Its shame that some people have not understood the FLAME .The following are few reason why the “flame” arouse.
Public fed up with the 30 year old corrupted regime and people begun to feel that Maumoon would not step down and Maldives will become a country where one family rules. After Gayyoom his son, daughter or brother may succeed the throne.
living standards of the people except maumoons family and close associates did not improve, even though maumoon has spent 30 years . No Sanitation, Water, Jobs etc in atolls. So many migrated to Male and Atolls became a haunted place (60% of Addu people living in Male, Addu atoll size 628 excluding hulhumeedho. hulhumeedhoo 317, Male’ 197 hectares, Laam atoll even bigger than addu).
Social problem due to congestion in Male and many other reasons, drugs, no proper health, no proper education, even in male’
Fraud, Corruption and wastage of public money for 30 years-,no action for those who steal the money.
Torture in Jail, no freedom of expression, no free media
No meaningful development compared to the time , money and donation received in the last 30 years. World has changed dramatically in the last 30 years
frustration caused because of the control and dealings of Abdulla Hameed,Ilyas, Abbas and other associated cronies
The main goal of the FLAME was to get rid of 30yeras old corrupted regime and begin a new era. If FLAME did not happen none would have gotten the chance to dream to become a president of the Maldives. Now we are not in a situation to start another FLAME. Auditor General, Anti corruption commission, Human Rights Commission, Civil services commission, Prosecutor general , Supreme court, indepandant media established.
Then why should flame come again.

Thoughts on current government
This is a reponse to the article by former Minister Nasheed on his blog regarding civil servants pay hike.
http://www.mnasheed.com/2009/01/on-the-pay-hike-of-civil-servants/
Current government was formed by approval of 54% of the Maldivian eligible voters. The biggest achievement is electing a new president and dismantling the 30years old network of Gayyoom. Its a new chapter in the Maldivian History. If we could not succeed, we have no guarantee that independent institutions will function in the spirit of amended constitution and the people will be able to enjoy the freedom and rights guaranteed in it.
Business entities like Bank Of Maldives, Stelco, Mifco, Mnsl, Sto, Macl, were run by Maumoon Family members or associates, these institution were nearly bankrupt when we overthrow the Gayyoon Government.
Do we have any guarantee that Maumoon government will not influence and will run the above companies as independent business institutions? Have you heard about the corruption and fraud happened in the above companies? Have you heard about the Sultan Of the Sea custom duty fraud (speed boats)? Have you seen places inside of Theemge? Are you aware of Former president and his family’s’ spending in town and abroad? Are you aware of the loans, gifts .etc he has given to his inner circle and regime associates? Do you know how much public money his relatives and friends spend in Singapore and London? Do you know how many cars and speed launches he used and how costly it was? Have you heard of Air Maldives case? Why we rejected an offer of the first class Airline in World- Emirates offer when we had MOU with them and it is in its final stage to sign formal contract?(Emirates then joined Sri Lankan Airlines), Who found and who approve to have business deal with Naloore Baruhaadhu and who will take responsibility of losses USD70 million. These are the few things? Had Maumoon government investigated any case related above?
We gave 30years to Former president Maumoon Abdula Gayyoom. During the last 30years the world has changed dramatically? Do you believe we Maldivians have achieved great success and prosperity during his term compared to the income and aid we received and the time he got to develop our country? Do you know the country’s economy and debt when Gayyoom left the country? If we make a comparable assessment Gayooms rating is 30/100.
Why Male is congested and recoreded as the most densely populated city of the world?
Why Maumoon did not developed two regions (North and South) See how big Addu Atoll and Lammu Atoll?
Can’t we accommodate 100,000 people there? Why we reclaimed Hulhumale spending USD300million. I have not lost anything due to the formation of current government; there is nothing I regret? Senior Citizens of this country will get Rf 2,000.00 per month and they will get medication freely in Maldives. We will get a Fish Factory creating many jobs. This guarantees that the fishermen do not have to dump their catches to sea. Projects will start soon to provide basic needs like water, electricity and sanitation in the atolls soon. Education curriculum will be reformed and schools are going to have one session . civic education has been started. Government have given the green light to improve services given in Hithadhu and Kuludfushi Hospital with association of foreign parties who are interested. A bill will be submitted to abolish custom duty from basic needs with the aim to cut down the cost of living. A project soon to be started to build 10000 housing units. We are confident that the current government will not influence independent institutions. Religious scholars who are idle due to maumoon monopolization are given freedom to preach within the regulatory framework. There are many people who have no work to do at office, so what’s wrong in giving notice to them?
I will not even appoint anyone whom I cannot trust to any post, especially when we consider the current Maldivian political environment. We don’t care who represent at the top level of the government as long as we receive services and fulfill the promises they made.
The so called technocrats and many thought that Maumoon will be reelected again and therefore they joined DRP .Fortunately, with the blessing of Allah that did not happen like that. MDP offered many posts to many people on condition to accept MDP membership, but few people accepted. MDP is ruling the government so we have to accept that MDP members will represent the political post. As you know, the so called technocrats joined the DRP and the remaining are in civil servants. Civil servants are not allowed to fill political posts. If they want they have to resign from civil services. In a political posts one may be dismissed anytime.
None is clear and pure , even previous governments have many shady characters in top jobs. Nasheed , please criticize by considering facts and with a rational mind. 46% who voted Maumoon Abudull Gayyooom will disagree with every act and ever plan of this government. It will take time for them to forget Maumoon Abdul Gayyon and its natural because he has been in our mind for 03 decades. Every action and every move of a politician is politically motivated.
